The Red Lion, Boldre

A quintessential New Forest Pub, The Red Lion, Boldre sits on the crossroads at the centre of the ancient village of Boldre. Dating back to around the 15th Century and mentioned in the Domesday Book The Red Lion is an amalgamation of an old style forest public house, two old cottages and stables.
Log fires, cosy beamed rooms, gardens for the summer, heated patios, well kept cask ales and, most importantly, a genuinely warm welcome; this is a classic forest pub not to be missed. Look out for our monthly 'Pie & Pudding' evening. A choice of six or seven homemade pies and a homemade pudding from our board for £10.  Early  booking is very advisable.
Dog and horse friendly. The Red Lion has two rooms that are suitable for private dining or meetings. Pre-ordered business lunches available – you are welcome to call us with your order and we will ensure speedy service.
Your children are most welcome at The Red Lion, however it is an adult environment and it is our view that good behaviour in children should be encouraged. Therefore we ask that you please keep your children seated safely at your table.

n.b. renovation of the first floor is now complete and looking lovely. A one bedroom self contained self catering apartment  - 'above the pub' -  is ideal for a couple or can accomodate up to four people.
